Each week Antony does a deep dive and gives you ten games in each classification worth tracking. In this weekend preview, I’ll give you twelve games across all classification worth tracking and a small note on why.

Texas vs. the Rest —  Four District 2-6A teams face out-of-state opponents: Midland vs. Red Bluff (California), Midland Lee vs. Somerset Academy (Nevada), Odessa vs. Arizona Compass Prep (Arizona), and Odessa Permian vs. Camden (New Jersey). It’s a four-game interstate measuring stick before district play.

Klein Collins vs. No. 25 Klein Cain — Klein Cain enters 4-0 after breaking into the statewide rankings, while 4-1 Klein Collins can seize control of the early District 15-6A race. The contrast between Cain’s explosive attack and Collins’ physical defense makes this one of the best Thursday games.

No. 15 Manvel at No. 14 Pearland — The weekend’s only matchup between ranked 6A teams pits 5-0 Pearland against 4-0 Manvel. This game will not only establish the leader in 19-6A but also shake up the state-wide rankings.

No. 10 Denton Guyer at Braswell — Guyer has recovered from its loss to top-ranked Waxahachie, but undefeated Braswell presents another major challenge. The winner gains an important early advantage in District 5-6A.

Frisco at No. 2 Anna — Anna is 5-0 after scoring 70 points against Frisco Independence. Frisco enters 3-1 and represents a more demanding district test for a Coyotes team trying to keep pace with top-ranked South Oak Cliff.

No. 9 Kerrville Tivy at No. 4 Davenport — Tivy is 4-0 and has scored 70 or more points in consecutive games, while Davenport is 3-1 and owns three victories in four previous meetings with the Antlers.

Newcastle at No. 2 Jayton — Jayton returns from an open week with a 4-0 record and the No. 2 statewide ranking. Newcastle provides the Jaybirds’ final tuneup before district play and a chance to reestablish their offensive rhythm.

No. 5 Pasadena First Baptist vs. No. 1 Fort Worth Covenant Classical — Covenant Classical puts its 4-0 record and top private six-man ranking against 4-1 Pasadena First Baptist at Bryan Allen Academy. It is a rare midseason meeting between two top-five private-school teams.

El Paso Eastwood vs. El Paso Pebble Hills — Both enter at 4–1 after decisive district-opening wins. Eastwood beat Eastlake 42–0, while Pebble Hills beat Montwood 44–7.

The Woodlands vs. The Woodlands College Park  — The Woodlands is looking for revenge for last year’s 37-31 loss as these two The Woodlands Township rivals face off.

Huntsville at Lake Creek — Huntsville is 2-2 overall and 1-0 in district, while Lake Creek stands 4-1 and 1-1. With the Lions averaging nearly 47 points, this game could become an early separator in the district playoff race.

Frsico Emerson at Celina — Celina’s 4-0 start meets an Emerson team carrying a 4-1 record into one of District 4-5A Division II’s most important early games. The result should help define the district’s championship and playoff-seeding races.

Bonus #13 The Weather — The weather forecast isn’t good for a large portion of the state this weekend. Games have already been moved. As of this writing, one game was moved to Wednesday and another was moved to Thursday. Be sure to confirm your game before heading out.
