Last year on Twitter/X/Whatever, I posted the games you should keep an eye on for Thursdays. This year I’ve turned it into article! Both my and Dad picked out 3 Games to keep an eye on on opening night. Check my Thursday Night roundup article tomorrow morning to see how thess game played out!

| 1 | Winters vs Shamrock |
Great mascot matchup with the Blizzards vs the Fighting Irish in the small school ranks.
|
| 2 | College Park at Iowa Colony |
Probably the best game opening night. College Park looks to continue their recent run. Iowa Park is undefeated as a varsity team against schools not named Richmond Randle.
|
| 3 | Longview Pine Tree vs Gilmer |
Gilmer looks to rebound from a tough 2025 while Pine Tree looks to be on the way up.

| 1 | Cy Lakes vs Katy Freeman |
I’m fascinated by this game so much I’ll be there. Follow @therealtxhsfb for drive-by-drive updates. A team who got into the Playoff for the first time ever (and upset Magnolia in Round 1!) versus a New UIL team that shows a lot of promise.

| 2 | Cy Ranch vs FB Hightower |
Cy Ranch almost upset Waxahachie in the Regional Semis last year and Hightower is looking to rebound.
|
| 3 | Sulphur Springs vs Mount Pleasant |
Interesting cross-classification matchup.
