The Breakdown

Rosehill Christian has been one of the Houston area’s most productive private-school teams through the opening weeks. The Eagles have scored 170 points—an average of 56.7 per game—while allowing only 34.

Rosehill opened with a 46–22 victory over St. Francis Episcopal before overwhelming St. John XXIII 59–6 and The Village School 65–6. The Eagles have reached at least 46 points in every game and have outscored their past two opponents 124–12.

Northside experienced both ends of the scoreboard during its first two games. The Lions lost 56–0 to Harvest Covenant at the Homeschool Football Classic but responded with a 43–19 victory over West Hardin. Quarterback Tennyson Vest gives the Lions a dual-threat option and leads the team in rushing and total offense. Receiver Oscar Farrera is a key target, while linebacker Kinkade Vest leads the defense in tackles. Northside will need those playmakers to produce consistently against a Rosehill team that has taken control early in games.
