Returning Starters: 6 offense, 9 defense
QB Adrian Ewells will be the starter for the third consecutive year after throwing for over 1,100 yards and 14 TDs last year to go with over 400 yards and 5 TDs rushing.
He’ll be joined on the offense by ATH Kariyen Goins (51 receptions, 618 yards, 6 TDs) and RB Deseahn Thomas (760+ yards and 11 TDs rushing to go with 2 TDs receiving).
Goins will also lead on defense after posting 28 tackles and 2 interceptions last season. He’ll be joined 4-year starter LB Sean Blanks (94 tackles) and DL Khai McGhee (73 tackles, 8 sacks).
Coach Brittain says the team has had a great off season and is excited for the coming season. “It’s one of our better off seasons we’ve always had great off seasons here. Our kids are very committed. But this has really been one that stuck out and it’s nice that you haven’t had all the COVID disruptions and things that we’ve faced the last several years. We’ve had we’ve had a great offseason. Kids are really committed. We know we have a lot of returning experience on our football team that made the second-round last year. Just the combination of having that great offseason and having so many returning players on our football team – we’re really excited about going into next football season.”
The Wildcats remain in district 10 of 5A division 2 along with Manvel, Richmond Foster, Fulshear, Terry and Fort Bend Kempner. New teams to the district will be Magnolia, Magnolia West and Friendswood replacing Fort Bend Hightower, Houston Milby, Houston Wisdom and Katy Paetow
