I know most of the rules for 16-6A tie breakers so I am going to break down each of the 16 possible game combinations and who makes the playoffs in each scenario.

First the district standings

And the tiebreaker procedures

STEP 1 Head-to-head is used to break a 2-way tie

STEP 2 in the case of a 3-way tie a “mini-district” is created involving only the teams in the tie. If any team won against both opponents, they get the favorable spot. If they are all 1-1 in the mini-district, a positive/ negative point differential with a cap of 18 points is used to pick the team for a favorable spot. Once one team is awarded a spot, this then reverts back to step 1.

STEP 3 in the case of a 4-way tie. I know the 4 teams are placed in a “mini-district” and their records compared. That usually results in two teams at 2-1 and two teams are 1-2. You would then use head-to-head to break the tie between those two. There is also the possibility of one team being 3-0 and the others all being 1-2. Obviously that team wins the first spot. I do not know for sure but assume that the 3 remaining teams revert to step 2 and that is what I am going with below.

I will break down each of the 16 possible win combinations and who gets in a why.

I’m not going to break down D1/ D2 each time. Cy Ranch is the D1-1 seed in all scenarios. Bridgeland is the D1-2 seed in all scenarios below. For the other two teams in the playoffs in each scenario, the team listed higher in the standing will be the D2-1 seed and the team listed lower will be the D2-2 seed.
