I’ll be live at this game Thursday night so I thought I’d get myself up to speed before the game and share some of my research with you.

Why does this game matter?

Langham Creek is currently part of a 3-way tie for 3rd in district at 3-2. The other two teams (Waller and Cy Springs) play each other on Saturday. A win by Langham Creek and they will moved into a playoff position without looking to tiebreakers (with the winner of the Waller/ Cy Springs game).

Cy Lakes is currently 2-3 one game behind the 3-way tie. A loss in this game will all but end Cy Lakes playoff hopes. A win keeps in the mix moving them into 3-way tie for 4th with Langham Creek and the loser of the Waller/ Cy Springs game.

Projections For This Game

Dave Campbell’s Computer (otherwise known as Jerry Forest of pigskinprep.com) favors Langham Creek by 7.

Massey Ratings (masseyratings.com) favors Langham Creek by 8.

I have my own scoring projector that compares each team’s performance against their opponent’s average performance. This projector favors Langham Creek by 7.

What I Expect to See

Obviously Langham Creek wants to establish the run game, control the clock and control the pace of the game. I expect them to be fairly successful in doing so. The key for Cy Lakes to torpedo the Lobos game plan is to get the ball to Theo Fields in open space and let him make spectacular plays.

I expect Langham Creek to more or less successful in controlling the pace of the game and walk out with the win.
