Katy Mayde Creek 36, Katy Paetow 34

This game was an INSTANT CLASSIC. Mayde Creek led most of the game when Paetow scored with about 4 minutes left then the Rams get a 1 yard touchdown with ONE SECOND LEFT for a program defining win.
This was a HUGE game for the playoffs. in 6A, they don’t split the class in 2 preseason, instead, the top 2 of the 4 playoff teams in enrollment. The top 3 are Seven Lakes, Pateow and Tompkins. Then Katy is 4th. If 2 of those top 3 make the playoffs, Katy does Division 2. This win makes that highly less likely to happen.
Richmond Randle 49, Alvin Iowa Colony 42
This was widely considered the game of the week across the whole state and it didn’t disappoint. Iowa Colony jumped to a 21-0 lead thanks to Lion turnovers but Randle tied the game before halftime. It went back and forth after that, but a defensive Lion stop with about a minute left gave them a huge 5AD2 district 9 win.
Spring Dekaney 56, Aldine 0
Spring ISD finally gets on the board! they were 0-9 headed into district play.
Klein Oak 42, Klein Forest 12
Forest is pretty much eliminated from playoff contention.
Arlington Seguin 68, The Colony 30
Seguin opens Arlington ISD’s brand new stadium with a win.
Two Teams done for the season
@Matt_Stepp817 was first to report that 2 2AD2 teams from the same district, Snook and McDade, have forfeited the remainder of their games this season. McDade isn’t as shocking because they just moved up to 11 man last year but Snook is a shock because they have been good, winning a district title in 2020.
