This was supposed to be a calm week. Around 25% of the state is off this week. While the games were big, I was pretty sure who was gonna win. Then last night happened, sending shockwaves through the state, mainly the Greater Houston Area.
Strake Jesuit 45, Houston Wisdom 0
I was at this game. You can find a gallery of pictures here: https://txhsfbnet.wordpress.com/2024/09/20/gallery-strake-jesuit-at-houston-wisdom/
Also, through four games, Strake Jesuit RB Johnny Herbert is averaging more than 200 yards rushing per game. That seems ideal.

14-6. 4 Were Upsets – Willis, Paetow, Oak and Deer Park while Hitchcock was a toss Up. I missed the mark on The Village.
Katy Paetow 34, Katy Tompkins 21
This was easily the biggest result of the night. Why?
In 6A, 4 teams from each of the 32 districts make the playoffs. The top two playoff teams in enrollment go to the Division 1 bracket , the bottom 2 Teams to the Division 2 bracket. 19-6A’s Enrollments..
| Cinco | 3790 |
| Paetow | 3746 |
| Seven Lakes | 3731 |
| Katy | 3530.5 |
| Taylor | 3209.5 |
| Jordan | 3122 |
| Tompkins | 3071 |
| Mayde Creek | 3025.5 |
| Morton Ranch | 2863 |
So Katy is #4 in enrollment. Two of Cinco, Paetow and Seven Lakes making the Playoffs sends them Division 2. So Tompkins potentially missing the playoffs is HUGE. It may very well come down to the Cinco/Tompkins game on October 17th.
FB Bush 31, FB Clements 26
The Broncos get their first win since the death of HC Allen Aldridge on September 9th.
Willis 45, The Woodlands 42
DJ Who? The Wildkats are exceeding expectations this year after beating the Highlanders for a second straight year on a 28-yard FG as time expired.
Klein Oak 33, Klein Cain 32
It was supposed to be Cain and Collins the top 2 in 15-6a and then the last 2 weeks happened. I THINK Tomball is 1, but its anyone’s guess after that. I knew 15-6a would be crazy this year, but not like this. 15-6a chose mega chaos this year.
North Crowley 70, Rockwall 17
70!? SEVENTY!? North Crowley is for real and could make a big appearance at AT&T Stadium in December.
Richmond Randle 45, FB Marshall 7
The Tigers had the most impressive result of the night. Randle is my favorite to make it to the title game from the right side of the 5AD2 Bracket but I’m sure Liberty Hill and Alamo Heights will have something to say about that.
Three Way 51, Lueders Avoca 0
Three Way is 4-0 for the first time in school history.
