Hey everyone! Antony Here! I’m getting myself into the football mindset and doing the necessary research before the new season starts. Tony and I are still planning to do our usual stuff – Antony’s 10, Pick’Em, GHA Pick em, etc – so get excited!
Here are our predictions for all GHA Districts for the new season! We had a round of realignment in February, so we had a big shakeup!
13-6A Picks
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | The Woodlands | The Woodlands |
| 2 | Willis | Willis |
| 3 | Conroe | Oak Ridge |
| 4 | New Caney | Conroe |
| 5 | Oak Ridge | College Park |
| 6 | College Park | Grand Oaks |
| 7 | Grand Oaks | New Caney |
| 8 | Cleveland | Caney Creek |
| 9 | Caney Creek | Cleveland |
Antony: The Woodlands is a clear #1, Willis and New Caney are 2/3 and I’m interested to see what Willis looks like without DJ Lagway. To me 13-6A is a 4-horse race for the last 2 spots.
Tony: The Woodlands fell to 2nd in district last year. I look for then to regain the district crown in 2024. Willis doesn’t return their best player (Lagway) but they do return 9 all-district players (2nd most in district). Conroe went 6-2 in district in 2023 and made the playoffs. They return more all-district players than any other team in the district (10). I think they maintain their 3rd place from 2023. Conroe has made three consecutive
playoff appearances. I see that stretching to four in 2024.
14-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Westfield | Westfield |
| 2 | Spring | DeKaney |
| 3 | Dekaney | Nimitz |
| 4 | Eisenhower | Spring |
| 5 | Nimitz | Davis |
| 6 | Davis | Eisenhower |
| 7 | MacArthur | MacArthur |
| 8 | Aldine | Aldine |
Antony: Its The Spring Schools as a clear top 3(Despite Westfield having changed head coaches in the last month) but its anyone’s guess who the last playoff spot will go to from the next 3 Aldine ISD schools.
Tony: Westfield has been the class of this district for many years and I look for that to continue in 2024. DeKaney finished 2nd in 2023 and I see no reason that will not continue in 2024. Nimitz finished 3rd in 2023 and returns 16 starters and 11 all district players. That should be enough to maintain 3rd. Spring finished 4th in 2023 and should maintain in 2023.
15-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Klein Collins | Klein Collins |
| 2 | Klein Cain | Klein Cain |
| 3 | Tomball | Tomball |
| 4 | Magnolia | Tomball Memorial |
| 5 | Tomball Memorial | Magnolia |
| 6 | Magnolia West | Magnolia West |
| 7 | Klein Oak | Klein Forest |
| 8 | Klein | Klein |
| 9 | Klein Forest | Klein Oak |
Antony: This in my mind is easily the GHA District of Death this Year Thanks to the 2 move-ups in Magnolia ISD. I feel confident in the Top 3 and the Bottom 2 but what will actually happen is anyone’s guess.
Tony: The Magnolia schools move up to 6A and into this very competitive district. The big question will whether or not either can crack into the top four. Klein Collins returns 14 starters from the 2023 team that went undefeated in district play in 2023. Klein Cain returns 15 starters. Tomball and Tomball Memorial return 10 starters each. Magnolia returns 13 starters while Mangolia West returns 8 starters. I see Collins and Cain as 1 and 2 in some order. 3rd and 4th should boil down to Tomball, Tomball Memorial or Magnolia.
16-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Bridgeland | Bridgeland |
| 2 | Cy Ranch | Cy Ranch |
| 3 | Cy Springs | Cy Springs |
| 4 | Cy Woods | Cy Woods |
| 5 | Langham Creek | Langham Creek |
| 6 | Waller | Cy Lakes |
| 7 | Cy Park | Waller |
| 8 | Cy Lakes | Cy Park |
Antony: I feel like the top 4 are pretty clear but i could see Waller or Langham Creek making a Surprise Run.
Tony: Bridgeland returns 12 starters and 22 all-district players from their 2023 district championship team. Cy Ranch returns 11 starts and 19 All-district players. Cy Springs returns 13 starters and 21 all-district players. Cy Woods returns 14 starters and 11 all-district players. I think there is big gap between Bridgeland and everyone else. I could see Cy Ranch, Cy Springs and Cy Wood finish 2nd ,3rd and 4th in any order. And then their is a big gap back to Langham Creek, Cy Lakes and Waller who I could see finishing 5th, 6th and 7th in some order.
17-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Cy Fair | Cy-Fair |
| 2 | Stratford | Stratford |
| 3 | Memorial | Memorial |
| 4 | Jersey Village | Cy Falls |
| 5 | Cy Falls | Jersey Village |
| 6 | Cy Creek | Cy Creek |
| 7 | Cy Ridge | Cy Ridge |
| 8 | Northbrook | Northbrook |
Antony: October 18th. That’s When Jersey Village and Cy Falls Play and that may very well decide who gets the Last spot in the Playoffs.
Tony: I think this district boils to Cy-Fair vs Stratford for 1st and 2nd. I see Memorial and Cy Falls as competing for 3rd and 4th. Jersey Village might contend for 4th as well.
18-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Lamar | Lamar |
| 2 | Heights | Heights |
| 3 | Bellaire | Bellaire |
| 4 | Westside | Wisdom |
| 5 | Wisdom | Westside |
| 6 | Sam Houston | Sam Houston |
| 7 | Chavez | Chavez |
Antony: Lamar and Heights are a Clear 1 and 2 but I see 3 Teams for 2 playoff spots here.
Tony: Lamar and Heights are the clear #1 and #2 in order. I think 3rd and 4th boil down to Bellaire vs Wisdom. Westside and Sam Houston have and outside at a playoff spot.
19-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Katy | Katy |
| 2 | Tompkins | Jordan |
| 3 | Jordan | Tompkins |
| 4 | Cinco Ranch | Cinco Ranch |
| 5 | Morton Ranch | Taylor |
| 6 | Taylor | Paetow |
| 7 | Paetow | Seven Lakes |
| 8 | Seven Lakes | Morton Ranch |
| 9 | Mayde Creek | Mayde Creek |
Antony: Obviously Katy is the Class of the field here and Tompkins and Jordan are a clear 2/3. after that I’m not 100% sure – like most years – but Cinco was very young last year and almost made the Playoffs anyway so that’s where i landed. I could see Paetow making a run.
Tony: I see this district as Katy, Jordan, Tompkins and Cinco Ranch is order. Taylor and Paetow will be competing for 5th and 6th and a possible shot at the 4th playoff spot.
20-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Fulshear | Fulshear |
| 2 | George Ranch | Alief Taylor |
| 3 | Alief Taylor | George Ranch |
| 4 | Strake Jesuit | Alief Elsik |
| 5 | Foster | Foster |
| 6 | Alief Elsik | Strake Jesuit |
| 7 | Alief Hastings | Alief Hastings |
Antony: This is where things shuffled from realignment. 5A move up Fulshear was a Clear #1 and George Ranch/Alief Taylor a clear 2 and 3 – After that I’m not 100% – 5A move up Foster should be a lot better – but I landed on Strake for now.
Tony: I see Fulshear as far and away the favorite for 1st. Alief Taylor and George Ranch should be competing for 2nd and 3rd in some order. I see 3 teams competing for the 4th playoff spot – Alief Elsik, Foster and Strake Jesuit. And I see the 4th spot as a complete toss up with all 3 teams having a equal shot at the spot. Of note special note here is that this district now aligns against Katy school in the first round of the playoffs instead of the Fort Bend district aligning against the Katy school.
21-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Ridge Point | Ridge Point |
| 2 | Hightower | Hightower |
| 3 | Travis | Travis |
| 4 | Austin | Austin |
| 5 | Clements | Bush |
| 6 | Elkins | Clements |
| 7 | Bush | Elkins |
| 8 | Dulles | Dulles |
Antony: Hightower will be very young so Ridge Point is the Clear Favorite – with the removal of George Ranch the 4th spot is very much up in the air. I could realistically see anyone but Dulles and Bush end up taking it. I did take Austin due to their shock Improvement last year but I am worried about them due to their offseason head coaching drama.
Tony: I see Ridge Point and the clear #1 and #2 in order. I see a gap back to the clear #3 – Travis. I see a gap back to the clear #4 – Austin. And then another gap back to #5 Bush.
22-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Shadow Creek | Shadow Creek |
| 2 | Pearland Dawson | Pearland |
| 3 | Pearland | Pearland Dawson |
| 4 | Manvel | Manvel |
| 5 | Pasadena Dobie | Pasadena Dobie |
| 6 | Pasadena Memorial | Pasadena Memorial |
| 7 | Alvin | Alvin |
| 8 | Pasadena South Houston | South Houston |
| 9 | Pasadena Sam Rayburn | Pasadena Rayburn |
Antony: Its an Obvious top 4 but I can see any of the top 4 realistically winning the district.
Tony: I think the district title will a competing between Shadow Creek and Pearland. Then a big gap back to Dawson and then a small gap back to Manvel and Dobie. I see those two competing for the fourth playoff spot.
23-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | North Shore | North Shore |
| 2 | Summer Creek | Summer Creek |
| 3 | Atascocita | Atascocita |
| 4 | CE King | C.E. King |
| 5 | Humble | Humble |
| 6 | Channelview | Kingwood |
| 7 | Kingwood | Channelview |
| 8 | Goose Creek Memorial | Goose Creek Memorial |
Antony: This is always considered the district of doom but honestly I’ve always seen it more Top heavy than anything else. I could MAYBE see 6 and 7 flip but that’s about it.
Tony: For years the question in this district has been can Atascocita finally break through and knock off North Shore. Make not mistake, North Shore is one of the top three teams in the state. One reason is North Shore is challenge in the district and prepared of the playoffs. This year, I see the team with the best chance to break through as Summer Creek. North Shore is #1. A small gap back to Summer Creek at #2. Atascocita comes at #3 just behind Summer Creek. C.E. King as clearly #4 and well in front of Humble or Kingwood.
24-6A
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Dickinson | Dickinson |
| 2 | Clear Springs | Clear Springs |
| 3 | Clear Falls | Clear Falls |
| 4 | Deer Park | Deer Park |
| 5 | Clear Lake | Clear Creek |
| 6 | Clear Creek | Clear Lake |
| 7 | Clear Brook | Clear Brook |
| 8 | Brazoswood | Brazoswood |
Antony: The Top 3 will change a lot throughout the season but Deer Park – a move in from District 23 – is a clear 4. I could see Creek and Lake jumping them though.
Tony: Give me Dickinson as a small bit in front of Clear Springs. I could see either Clear Falls or Deer park grabbing the 3rd spot. Both are well in front of Clear Creek.
9-5AD1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Port Arthur Memorial | Port Arthur Memorial |
| 2 | Barbers Hill | Lufkin |
| 3 | Lufkin | Barbers Hill |
| 4 | Galveston Ball | Galveston Ball |
| 5 | Beaumont West Brook | Baytown Sterling |
| 6 | Beaumont United | Beaumont West Brook |
| 7 | Baytown Sterling | Beaumont United |
Antony: The top 3 will duke it out for the District Title. I could see West Brook or United beating Ball, but it seems unlikely.
Tony: In alignment with Antony here. Port Arthur Memorial , Lufkin and Barbers Hill should compete for the title and finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in some order. Ball is the clear 4th place well in front of Sterling, West Brook and United.
10-5AD1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Galena Park | Houston Sterling |
| 2 | Houston Sterling | Houston Madison |
| 3 | Houston Madison | Houston Waltrip |
| 4 | Houston Waltrip | Houston Westbury |
| 5 | Houston Westbury | Galena Park |
| 6 | SB Spring Woods | Spring Woods |
| 7 | Houston Milby | Houston Milby |
| 8 | Houston Austin | Houston Austin |
| 9 | Houston Sharpstown | Houston Sharpstown |
Antony: Galena Park should win the District, but the big wild card is Spring Woods. I have NO clue how good or bad they will do.
Tony: Big disagreement here. Antony has Galena Park as #1 and I have then missing the playoffs. Give me Sterling, Madison, Waltrip and Westbury and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th but I think the ordering is very much up in the air. I see Galena Park and Spring Woods competing for 5th but well behind 4th.
11-5AD1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Angleton | La Porte |
| 2 | Friendswood | Angleton |
| 3 | La Porte | Kingwood Park |
| 4 | Kingwood Park | Friendswood |
| 5 | Crosby | Crosby |
| 6 | New Caney Porter | Porter |
| 7 | Pasadena | Pasadena |
| 8 | FB Kempner | Kempner |
Antony: I think Angleton and Friendswood will be happy to be in a much easier district, but beyond that 2, its a 4 horse race for the Other 2 spots.
Tony: I’m much higher on La Porte than Antony. I see La Porte and Angleton as clear 1st and 2nd in some order. I see Kingwood Park, Friendswood, Crosby and Porter as all having a shot at 3rd and 4th.
8-5AD2
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Port Neches Groves | Port Neches-Groves |
| 2 | Huntsville | Lake Creek |
| 3 | Montgomery Lake Creek | Huntsville |
| 4 | Montgomery | Montgomery |
| 5 | Nederland | Nederland |
| 6 | Dayton | Dayton |
| 7 | New Caney West Fork | West Fork |
| 8 | Splendora | Splendora |
Antony: Having a D2 Region 2 district is gonna be odd. PNG is your runaway favorite in this district, I could see it getting messy if Nederland and Dayton manage to get an upset or 2.
Tony: Give me PNG as the clear favorite for 1st but I think Lake Creek and Huntsville could challenge for the district crown. I see those three and way, way in front of 4th. I look for Montgomery and Nederland to compete for the 4th spot.
9-5AD2
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Richmond Randle | Randle |
| 2 | FB Marshall | FB Marshall |
| 3 | Iowa Colony | Iowa Colony |
| 4 | Texas City | Texas City |
| 5 | Santa Fe | Baytown Lee |
| 6 | Baytown Lee | Santa Fe |
| 7 | Rosenberg Terry | Terry |
| 8 | Lamar Consolidated | Lamar Consolidated |
Antony: I have Randle going all the way to State, mainly because they are in the weak side of the Bracket. The top 4 are pretty Separated from the Rest of the District.
Tony: Like Antony, I am high on Randle but I see Randle, Marshall and Iowa Colony having a shot at grabbing the district crown. All thee are far in front of 4th. I see Texas City as the favorite for 4th with Baytown Lee having an outside shot.
10-4AD1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Little Cypress Mauriceville | Little Cypress Mauriceville |
| 2 | Vidor | Vidor |
| 3 | Lumberton | Lumberton |
| 4 | Livingston | Livingston |
| 5 | Huffman Hargrave | Huffman Hargrave |
| 6 | Bridge City | Bridge City |
| 7 | Liberty | Hardin-Jefferson |
| 8 | Hardin Jefferson | Liberty |
Antony: There’s not a great team here, but LCM is pretty good and could win a playoff game. The top 2 seems playoff bound but the other 3 are playing for 2 spots in my Mind.
Tony: I see LCM as the favorite for the district title in front of Vidor. Vidor is my pick for #2. I see Lumberton and Livingston competing for 3rd and 4th. I give Huffman-Hargrave an outside shot at competing for the 4th spot.
11-4AD1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Worthing | Worthing |
| 2 | Furr | Furr |

| 5 | Wheatley | Wheatley |
| 6 | Kashmere | Kashmere |
| 7 | Washington | Washington |
| 8 | Northside | Scarborough |
| 9 | Scarborough | Northside |
Antony: I think if there’s one year someone from HISD not named Lamar or Heights wins a playoff game this year may be this one……………… Worthing’s got a great shot. Furr and Yates seem like locks and North Forest has the 4th spot but I could see 5, 6 and 7 making it.
Tony: I think the top 5 are far in front of the rest. I see Worthing as the clear district favorite and playoff lock. I think the next 4 – Furr, Yates, North Forest and Wheatley could all finish 2nd to 5th in any order.
12-4AD1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Needville | Needville |
| 2 | Navasota | Navasota |
| 3 | Stafford | Stafford |
| 4 | Brazosport | FB Willowridge |
| 5 | Willowridge | Brazosport |
| 6 | Crawford | Crawford |
Antony: Needville is a clear favorite. Navasota and Stafford are 2 and 3, either of the other 3 teams could get the last spot. Newcomer Crawford is a big wild card.
Tony: I see Needville, Navasota and Stafford as playoff lock and finishing in that order. I think any of Willowridge, Brazosport or Crawford grabbing the 4th spot.
9-4A D2
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Jasper | Hamshire-Fannett |
| 2 | Silsbee | Jasper |
| 3 | Hamshire Fannett | Silsbee |
| 4 | West Orange Stark | West Orange-Stark |
| 5 | Shepherd | Shepherd |
| 6 | Cleveland Tarkington | Tarkington |
Antony: The Top 4 are gonna basically be thrown into a blender and somehow it will shake out.
Tony: 7-on-7 state champion Hamshire-Fannett, Jasper, Silsbee and West Orange-Stark and far ahead of Shepherd and Tarkington. Like Antony, I could them finishing in any order 1st to 4th.
10-4A D2

| 1 | West Columbia | Columbia |
| 2 | Brookshire Royal | Royal |
| 3 | Sweeny | Sweeny |
| 4 | La Marque | La Marque |
| 5 | Wharton | Wharton |
| 6 | Katy Harmony | Katy Harmony |
| 7 | Sugar Land Harmony | Sugar Land Harmony |
Antony: The 2 new Harmony Charter Schools are wild cards but the top 4 are pretty locked in for now.
Tony: I see Columbia and Royal competing for the district crown. After that I Sweeny and a La Marque should compete for 3rd and 4th. I think the top 4 are clearly in front of the other teams.
11-4A D2
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Bellville | Bellville |
| 2 | Sealy | Madisonville |
| 3 | Madisonville | Sealy |
| 4 | Giddings | Giddings |
| 5 | La Grange | La Grange |
| 6 | Caldwell | Caldwell |
Antony: Bellville is probably the favorite from the right side of the bracket to make it to the title Game. 2/3 are interchangeable but any of the other 3 teams could grab the last Spot.
Tony: Bellville is clearly the top team (and a state contender). Madisonville and Sealy should compete and 2nd and 3rd. I think Giddings is the favorite for 4th with La Grange having an outside shot.
10-3A D1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Anahuac | Anahuac |
| 2 | East Chambers | East Chambers |
| 3 | Orangefield | Orangefield |
| 4 | Kirbyville | Coldspring-Oakhurst |
| 5 | Coldspring Oakhurst | Kirbyville |
| 6 | Buna | Buna |
| 7 | Hardin | Hardin |
Antony: The top 3 seems pretty safe but I think The game between Kirbyville and Coldspring on October 4th will decide the last spot.
Tony: Anahuac and East Chambers should compete for the top spot. Orangefield is the favorite for 3rd. 4th should boil down to Coldspring-Oakhurst or Kirbyville.
12-3AD1
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Columbus | Columbus |
| 2 | Hitchcock | Hitchcock |
| 3 | Hallettsville | Hallettsville |
| 4 | Yoakum | Yoakum |
| 5 | Hempstead | Hempstead |
Antony: Like last Time I feel so bad for Hempstead. You can Mark October 25th as the probable district title game.
Tony: Columbus and Hitchcock are both legitimate state title contenders. The district title should be decided between the two. Hallettsville and Yoakum should secure 3rd and 4th.
12-3AD2
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Newton | Newton |
| 2 | Woodville | Woodville |
| 3 | New Waverly | Anderson-Shiro |
| 4 | Anderson Shiro | New Waverly |
| 5 | Warren | Warren |
| 6 | Kountze | Kountze |
| 7 | Trinity | Trinity |
Antony: Newton is at worst co-Favorite in region 3. I think its 3 teams for 2 playoff spots.
Tony: Newton is far and away the district favorite. Woodville is the clear favorite for 2nd place with Anderson-Shiro the clear favorite for 3rd. I think New Waverly is in front of Warren for the 4th playoff spot.
14-3AD2
| Antony | Tony | |
| 1 | Tidehaven | Tidehaven |
| 2 | East Bernard | East Bernard |
| 3 | Vanderbilt | Vanderbilt Industrial |
| 4 | Van Vleck | Boling |
| 5 | Boling | Van Vleck |
| 6 | Rice Consolaidated | Rice Consolidated |
| 7 | Wallis Brazos | Wallis Brazos |
Antony: Rice Consolidated is a trendy dark horse to make the playoffs but Tidehaven made the title game last year and should run the district again this year.
Tony: Tidehaven is the favorite for the district title but East Bernard may give a challenge. Industrial is in clear position to finish 3rd. I see 4th boiling down to Boling, Van Vleck or Rice Consolidated.
15- 2A D1

| 3 | Weimer | Schulenburg |
| 4 | Flatonia | Flatonia |
| 5 | Kennedy | Kennedy |
| 6 | Danbury | Danbury |
| 7 | Bloomington | Bloomington |
Antony: Danbury Finally gives us a 2AD1 team. Ganado is the favorite to win State for a Reason. I think the top 4 are ahead of everyone else.
Tony: Ganado is clearly the favorite in this district. 2nd and 3rd should be a battle between Weimar and Schulenburg. I look for Flatonia and Kenedy to duke it out for the 4th playoff spot.
12-2A D2
